KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Thursday said that Sindh government decided to purchase another 1000 electric scooters for women and expand its public transport network with new inter-city bus services.
The announcement comes as authorities in Sindh, home to the country’s largest city Karachi, seek to modernize urban transport systems and promote environment friendly travel options. Speaking after a meeting of the provincial Transport and Mass Transit Department in Karachi, Memon said new People’s Bus Service routes linking Khairpur with Rohri and Ranipur would begin operations next week.
He said inter-city bus services would also be launched in districts including Larkana, Dadu, Sehwan, Hyderabad and Sanghar.
