LAHORE: The former President of the Lahore Chamber Muhammad Ali Mian said that at a time when the region was under severe tension and any moment could have escalated into a major global conflict, the timely intervention of Pakistan’s leadership was decisive in averting the horrifying threat of a potential nuclear war.

He added that recognition from key countries including China, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Canada underscores Pakistan’s emergence on the world stage as a responsible, respected, and peace-loving nation.

Muhammad Ali Mian further stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s active and balanced diplomacy, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar’s wise strategy, and particularly Field Marshal Asim Munir’s exceptional leadership, have elevated Pakistan’s prestige to new heights globally.

Meanwhile, The Pak International Business Forum (PIBF) has welcomed the recent Iran–United States dialogue facilitated through Pakistan’s mediation, describing it as a timely and much-needed step toward de-escalation and regional stability.

In an official statement issued on Thursday, PIBF President Dr Mushtaq Mangat said, “Pakistan has once again demonstrated its strategic diplomatic relevance by effectively bridging communication between key global stakeholders. This initiative not only strengthens regional peace prospects but also reinforces Pakistan’s credibility on the international stage.”

Echoing similar views, Secretary General Muhammad Ejaz Tanveer stated, “While the dialogue is a positive development, it must now lead to tangible outcomes, particularly the easing and eventual lifting of economic sanctions on Iran. These sanctions have long hindered regional economic integration and energy cooperation.”

Chief Organiser Muaz Qazi emphasized the urgency of economic follow-through adding, “Pakistan must be fully prepared to act the moment there is any relaxation in sanctions. Immediate progress on the Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline is critical, given the country’s worsening energy crisis.”
