“What was your take on President Trump’s address to his nation?”

“He was addressing his country not ours.”

“Hey when the lion roars other animals scuttle.”

“Are you a nawala? The party’s leadership, the Sharifs as well as their second tier leaders, have a very well-developed affinity with lions.”

“Two observations. First the Man Who Must Remain Nameless and Faceless associates his party with a cricket bat, that’s his election symbol…”

“The symbol that was.”

“Don’t be facetious, any way second is that the party symbol is a tiger not a lion – in Urdu sher and not babbar sher. And it is the latter whose roar is rather powerful – it travels upto 8 kilometres across the savanna and other animals in the vicinity move away when they hear it.”

“The change requires the legal acumen of Tarrar the Law Minister…”

“Well I define the two animals as first cousins. And I hope the former First Daughter reverses her decision if she is to make serious inroads into becoming popular within and without the party.”

“I disagree about the cousins bit. Look at the disappearing Hamza act! How about the two animals are cousins twice removed?”

“Don’t be facetious anyway even the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board has begun to defer to her.”

“Ah but has the Interior Minister?”

“Don’t be silly, our multi-hatted Deputy Prime Minister wears so many hats, but he knows the one hat from which all other hats emanate.”

“Dear Lord. Anyway The Former First Daughter and the current First Chief Minister took a decision that may come to haunt her come election time.”

“Election is the one exercise that is rather easy to manage for a national party – past, present and future. You don’t need a constitutional amendment, and you do not need…”

“Shut up, anyway in January this year Maryam Nawaz banned lions as pets.”

“Babbar sher not sher.”

“Right anyway going to Trump’s speech my take is he delivered the address while standing up and no one – all presidents, past and present, all prime ministers past and present, all institutional heads past and present, hell even our federal cabinet, past and present pontificate while seated.”

“I give up.”
