Zuma Resources Ltd — formerly known as Bilal Fibres Limited —  has taken a significant step toward expanding its international footprint in the telecommunications sector.

The Pakistani tech company has approved a strategic partnership with Telna North America, Inc., a Canadian-based global cellular connectivity platform, to offer eSIM, physical SIM, and mobile network services worldwide. The company also plans to set up a wholly-owned UK subsidiary to support its international telecom and connectivity operations.

The company informed its stakeholders via a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday.

“The board has authorised the company to enter into a strategic partnership and collaboration agreement with Telna North America, Inc. for the purpose of expanding the company’s telecommunications and connectivity services globally,” read the notice.

Telna is a global telecom connectivity platform delivering eSIM, physical SIMs, and mobile network services in over 200 countries through partnerships with international mobile operators.

The proposed partnership is expected to enable Zuma Resources Ltd to expand its international digital telecom services and generate projected annual revenues in the range of $3–5 million within the initial phase of operations.

The partnership is subject to regulatory approvals and commercial rollout, read the notice.

The collaboration will focus on launching global eSIM and physical SIM connectivity services; providing MVNO enablement, international roaming and telecom infrastructure solutions; integrating telecom services into the Company’s global connectivity platforms; and expanding the company’s presence in international telecom markets

Moreover, the company’s board has also approved the incorporation of a wholly-owned subsidiary in the United Kingdom.

The proposed subsidiary will primarily be responsible for managing international telecom partnerships, operating global connectivity services, executing agreements with international telecom operators, including Telna North America, Inc, and managing global distribution and technology integrations

“The establishment of the UK subsidiary will serve as the company’s international operational hub to support its global telecom and connectivity initiatives,” read the notice.

Zuma Resources is principally engaged in IT investing, partnering, and strategically collaborating with a diversified portfolio of companies in technology, AI-enabled services, electric vehicles, healthcare, e-commerce and other sectors.
