Economic policymaking: Govt to restructure PD as central clearinghouse
ISLAMABAD: The government on Friday decided to restructure the Planning Division as a central clearinghouse for all economic policies in consultation with stakeholders from the economic ministries and the private sector.
The decision was taken in a high-level meeting of the Economic Reforms Committee (ERC) chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

According to an official statement, the ECR, constituted by the Prime Minister, focused on structuring the Planning Division as a central clearinghouse for all economic policies, involving key stakeholders from economic ministries, other relevant divisions, and the private sector.
The meeting was attended by Ministers of Planning, Finance, Power, EAD; SAPM Tariq Bajwa; the Chief Economist; Secretary Planning; and other senior officials from the concerned ministries.
