KARACHI: Traders have announced participation in the “Let Karachi Live March” to be held on February 1 on Shahrah-e-Faisal, following an appeal by Jamaat-e-Islami Chief, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman over the Gul Plaza tragedy.
Atiq Mir, Chairman of All Karachi Ittehad, said traders would take part in large numbers. He expressed this during a meeting with a Jamaat-e-Islami delegation led by Deputy Secretary General and former Sindh Assembly member Younis Barai, which also invited him to a Traders’ Convention scheduled for January 30 at Idara Noor-e-Haq. Jamaat-e-Islami leaders separately met Asif Gulfam, Chairman Aram Bagh Traders Alliance, and Javed Haji Abdullah, Chairman All Pakistan Confectionery Association, both of whom assured participation in the march and the convention.
The delegation also met newly elected Cooperative Market General Secretary Aslam Khan and Working Committee member Hanif Memon, who confirmed participation.
