LAHORE: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore has completed 90 percent of the work on a project of replacing the trunk sewer line on Khayaban-e-Firdowsi in Johar Town.

This was revealed during the visit of WASA Lahore Vice Chairman Chaudhry Shahbaz Ahmed and Deputy Managing Director Abdul Latif to the project site on Friday; on this occasion, they reviewed the ongoing development works, and WASA Lahore Director Johar Town Muhammad Danish provided an update on the project’s progress.

An official at the site stated that 80 percent of the road has been handed over to the Lahore Development Authority for construction, while the work to replace the sewer line is continuing around the clock to ensure that effective drainage facilities are provided to citizens as soon as possible. They indicated that the remaining sewerage work on Khayaban-e-Firdowsi will be completed within this month. Continuous technical monitoring by NESPAK is being conducted to ensure the quality of the project, making sure that all work adheres to modern engineering standards, they added.

During the visit, the WASA Lahore Vice Chairman emphasised the importance of maintaining high-quality standards in development projects. He directed that safety measures must be prioritised at all times during the ongoing work on Khayaban-e-Firdowsi. He insisted that all phases of construction should comply with contemporary technical principles to achieve a long-lasting and sustainable drainage solution. WASA Lahore is fully utilising its resources to enhance facilities for citizens, ensuring the timely completion of development projects, he added.
