Dar underscores importance of stronger Pakistan-Iran engagement
- Says coordination among relevant ministries was essential to advance bilateral cooperation
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday underscored the importance of strengthening Pakistan-Iran engagement while chairing an inter-ministerial meeting to review bilateral relations between the two neighbouring countries.
According to Foreign Office, the meeting reviewed ongoing cooperation across a range of sectors and discussed ways to further enhance economic and trade ties, with a focus on priority areas of mutual interest.
The deputy prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening engagement with Iran, stressing that closer coordination among relevant ministries was essential to advance bilateral cooperation and realise untapped economic potential.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Petroleum, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch, Secretary Petroleum, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant ministries.
Officials noted that sustained diplomatic engagement and improved inter-ministerial coordination would help strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations in line with Pakistan’s broader regional connectivity and economic objectives.
