LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) carried out extensive enforcement operations across the province, with teams remaining active late into the night to scrutinize sales records of various business establishments.

According to the PRA, during these operations, several defaulting food chains and other business outlets involved in the manipulation and concealment of sales records were sealed. Sales records of nine restaurants and food points were taken into custody for further examination.

Officials warned that cases will be registered against businesses found concealing sales records or resisting to enforcement teams.

Action was also taken against entities that failed to deposit due taxes into the government treasury despite the issuance of repeated notices. The taxes paid by the public are a trust of the government, and their timely and transparent payment must be ensured, officials stated. They also advised consumers to always obtain an e-bill after making payments.
