On this occasion, Member of the Provincial Assembly Ali Ahmed Jan, various office-bearers of the Pakistan Peoples Party, members of the City Council, deputy parliamentary leaders, UC chairmen, and a large number of local residents were present.

Addressing the ceremony, the Mayor said, this year is the year of development as Karachi Metropolitan Corporation is going to spend Rs 30 billion on the city to provide basic facilities to the public.

He said that PPP elected representative of the city had not come merely to make promises, but to fulfil the promises made to the people of Karachi by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

He said that the purpose of visiting the area was to inform the public about the implementation of the Chairman PPP’s commitments. They were laying foundation stones for various projects and that work was visibly underway.

He said that through the joint efforts of the Sindh Government and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the process of improving the city will continue. Practical steps are being taken to provide modern and sustainable infrastructure in the city, and that development work in District West would be completed on a priority basis.

He said that KMC’s development projects are an important step towards resolving public issues, and that a commitment has been made to make Karachi’s roads durable and of high quality.

Timely completion of these projects will not only facilitate local residents but will significantly improve Karachi’s overall urban infrastructure.
