KARACHI: Chairman, Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday said that 58th Foundation Day of the PPP is not merely the anniversary of a political party but the celebration of a people’s movement born from the struggle for democracy, dignity, and social justice.

According to the press release issued by the Media Cell Bilawal House, Chairman PPP said in his message that from Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s historic call for empowering the people to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s unwavering fight for democracy the PPP has always stood as a shield for the rights of the oppressed.

“Our Party’s journey is written with the sacrifices of our martyrs and strengthened by the resilience of our workers,” he added.

He said that under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan witnessed the restoration of the Constitution, the historic 18th Amendment, provincial autonomy, and unprecedented steps for reconciliation and democratic continuity.

He reaffirmed that the PPP will continue to speak for the poor, the marginalized, farmers, labourers, women, and minorities. “Our ideology is rooted in service to the people. As long as inequality, injustice, and poverty exist, the PPP’s struggle will continue,” he said.

He paid tribute to the Party’s founding members, leaders, and the countless jiyalas whose loyalty and passion have kept the flag of democracy flying high. “I draw my strength from the people of Pakistan and from the unwavering spirit of our workers who have stood firm through every trial.”

PPP Chairman called upon the nation to unite in the fight for a prosperous, peaceful, and democratic Pakistan. “On this Foundation Day, I pledge to continue the mission of my martyrs — to build a Pakistan where every citizen has equal rights, equal opportunities, and a future shaped by hope, not fear.”

Together, we shall carry forward the legacy of sacrifice, courage, and people’s power. The journey continues, PPP Chief concluded.
