KARACHI: The Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2025 ended after witnessing a number of new vehicles launches and innovative technology display for EV as over 172 exhibitors showed the true potential of local auto industry.

The exhibition is the country’s best automotive show which showcases the best from local manufacturers, suppliers, parts and accessories vendors, and industry stakeholders.

“Local manufacturing in the automobile sector substantially contributes in the development of national economy,” said Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufactures (PAAPAM) senior vice chairman Shehryar Qadir.

He added that with 3 percent contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and almost 15 percent to Large Scale Manufacturing (LSM) the country’s automobile sector is playing an important role in growth and development of the country.

Similarly, he added, the auto parts manufacturers also contribute over USD1 billion annually in terms of import substitution which in turn saves foreign exchange and creates employment.

“The industry needs positive policy measures to help deal with a different set of challenges and create a vibrant ecosystem for our automotive future.

“This exhibition as a powerful testament gives us hope and opportunities, showing our industry’s innovative spirit,” said Senior Vice Chairman Paapam.

Zain Shariq, convenor of the Pakistan Auto Show 2025, said hundreds of exhibitors (both domestic and international) and thousands of visitors witnessed the grand show revolving around innovation, localisation of production, and e-mobility.

It is pertinent to mention here that Suzuki launched the Fronx (the compact SUV segment in Pakistan) and Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) launched the nation’s most extensive line-up of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) under its premium EV brand, Deepal at the PAPS.
