LAHORE: In a collaborative effort, the Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) joined hands with the Information and Culture Department and Zong Telecommunication to host a vibrant celebration of the Chinese New Year at Faletti’s Hotel on Friday.

The esteemed gathering included notable figures such as Balighur Rehman, Governor Punjab, Zhao Shiren, Consul General China in Lahore, Gen. Nasir Khan Janjua, Barrister Syed Azfar Ali Nasir, Minister Housing (Punjab), Durmu Batu, Consul General of Turkiye in Lahore, and many other distinguished guests.

Governor Punjab, Balighur Rehman, conveyed his New Year wishes to the Chinese community, highlighting the strong bond between Pakistan and China, especially through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He expressed optimism about CPEC as a transformative force.

Minister Housing and Urban Development, Punjab, Syed Azfar Ali Nasir, praised China's development over the past four decades, attributing it to visionary leadership and effective reforms. He extended warm wishes for the New Year to the people and leadership of China.

Consul General China in Lahore, Zhao Shiren, talked about the deep mutual trust, respect, and goodwill between the two nations. He lauded CPEC as not only a pathway to economic prosperity but also a means to enhance social growth and emotional bonds.

Additional Secretary, Information & Culture Department (Punjab), Tariq Ali Basra, highlighted the efforts to showcase Pakistan's rich culture through live exhibitions and performances at the event.

President PCJCCI, Moazzam Ali Ghurki, underlined the celebration's significance in promoting diversity and multiculturalism between China and Pakistan, with CPEC serving as a robust pillar of connectivity.

Secretary General PCJCCI, Salahuddin Hanif, expressed gratitude to the Cultural and Information Department (Punjab) and Zong Telecommunication for their active participation. The festivities concluded with a joyous cake-cutting ceremony, marking the commencement of the Chinese New Year.
