(Karachi) An army officer embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with terrorists in South Waziristan, a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated on Monday.

According to military's media wing, army personnel conducted patrolling in Shakai area in South Waziristan on presence of terrorists.

"The security forces were conducting night patrolling to check terrorists move in the area. During one such late night patrol yesterday in Shakai, South Wazirstan, terrorists fired on patrolling party," the ISPR added.

It said, "During exchange of fire, Captain Abdullah Zafar, age 25 years, resident of Lachi, Kohat while leading his troops embraced shahadat."

The security forces cordoned off the area for clearance operation, the ISPR said.

Earlier on September 26, a Pak army official was martyred when Indian Army troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation along LOC in Kotkotera Sector.

The Pakistan Army responded befittingly to Indian provocation, causing substantial damage to Indian post in men and material.

During intense exchange of fire Naik Dilfraz, age 34 years resident of Village Panjkot Muzaffarabad embraced shahadat fighting valiantly in the line of duty.
