ISLAMABAD: Secretary Power Division, Omar Rasul, on Thursday reportedly left the Ministry in protest against interference by administrative decisions in power Distribution Companies (Discos).
Well-informed sources told Business Recorder that Secretary Power was already in distress due to growing political intervention in the affairs of attached organizations and department by the 'Dubai Group.'
The sources said, Secretary Power Division left the Ministry in the middle of a pre-PACT meeting on Wednesday and did not return till the filing of this report.
Mr. Rasul is known for taking hasty decisions and took a similar decision while serving in the Ministry of Education.
This correspondent made a couple of calls to seek the viewpoint of Secretary but he did not attend the call.
Another issue which seems to have irritated Secretary Power was cancellation of transfer orders of CEO Fesco. Mr Rasul could not be reached for his comments.
