Consultation underway to prepare comprehensive upcoming budget

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal Wednesday said consultations with all stakeholders were underway to prepare a comprehensive upcoming budget based on aspirations of the people.
Talking to PTV, he said the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government had brought improvements in the national economy which was also being acknowledged by the international community.
He said the government was near to complete its constitutional tenure and we would leave a strong economy and strengthened country for the next government.
The minister said the imports had been decreased and exports were increasing due to effective economic policies of the government, adding that current imports volume was 55 billion dollars which include Petroleum products, heavy machinery etc.
Rana Afzal said the government had expanded tax network and controlled inflation and improved Gross Development Product (GDP).
He said the PML-N government had reduced terror related incidents, power load-shedding, restored peace in Karachi, providing modern transport facilities all over the country without any discrimination in its tenure.
Road network and Motorways, China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) investment, reforms in agriculture sector and reducing unemployment were also credit to the PML-N government, he added.
He said the PML-N would win the upcoming elections on the basis of its performance, adding that all major political parties were in power in different provinces but PML-N was leading in providing good governance to the people.
Muhammad Afzal said the government wanted to complete all mega projects started by the PML-N before the end of its constitutional tenure.
