Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, said that knowledge has no bounds. Man learns throughout his life and for mastery over law perhaps one's life is not sufficient. Chief Justice was addressing at the concluding session of one-day training workshop of civil judges under the auspices of Punjab Judicial Academy here on Sunday.
He termed the knowledge of law as a gift for judges and full grasp over the profession of law necessary for them. Expertise over the art and different skills of law enhance the dignity of judges and those have command over law also command their courts well. Only law knowing judges enjoy respect and honour in courts, among lawyers' community and litigant public, Chief Justice added.
Addressing the participants, Chief Justice said that you have been selected on merit. You are not inefficient but any one claiming full grip over law is on the wrong side. Therefore, learning avenues have been provided to hone your professional abilities and it is up to you to shape your future. Chief Justice reminded that even judges of Lahore High Court have attended such informative workshops and training courses have been designed for capacity building of judges at all level throughout the Punjab.
Earlier Sessions Judge Inquiries, Research and Development Javed Rashid Mehboobi said that in the first phase 330 civil judges have benefited from such courses held at Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Multan and Lahore and participant judges have undergone objective type test at the end of each course. Training courses of similar nature will also be arranged for rest of the judges.
