Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) emerged as the top political party after winning the Senate elections with thumping majority. The political structure of the country is incomplete without the involvement of Pakistan People's Party and PPP will play its front-foot and dominating role in upcoming elections.
Addressing various delegations at PAMRA office on Saturday night the Information Minister further stated that the majority party could protect federation, provincial autonomy and safeguarding the country. PPP leadership is striving hard for strengthening the democratic institutions as well as for the promotion of democracy at gross-roots level across the country aimed at making the country a real democratic one, she said. Dr Firdous revealed that Information Technology Campuses would be established at village level on top priority basis in the country.
The concept of setting IT campuses at village level is to promote IT as well as to introduce computer literacy among the rural youth, she said. The Information Minister said that introduction of computer literacy at village level will surely help in producing IT experts and this programme of the government will not only open new era of development but also generate employment opportunities in the country. The computer education has become more imperative in the present era for attaining ultimate goals and without computer literacy no nation could prosper, she added.
Dr Firdous Awan further stated that provision of employment is the basic component of Pakistan People's Party's manifesto and the PPP leadership is making adequate efforts for generating employment opportunities for the educated youth in the country.
