Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pak-Turk International Educational Foundation (ICEF) for establishment of standardised school in the premises of the university campus.
According to university spokesman, the MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Noshad Ahmed Shaikh and Chairman Pak-Turk ICEF Unal Tosur in a simple but impressive ceremony. Under MoU, the university management has handed over the building of Luqman Hostel to Pak-Turk ICEF for a period of 30 years for establishment of primary, secondary and higher levels school where Pak-Turk ICEF will construct 20 classrooms, four laboratories, one each library and meeting room, play ground and administration block. According to MoU, the management and other affairs of the school will be supervised by a committee consisting of seven members including the VC, registrar and a member from the university syndicate.
The Principal of the school will annually brief the committee about the affairs of the school as well as the future planning and developments. The school management will fix the fee structure which could be affordable for local community on no loss no gain basis while the children of LUMHS employees will get 20 percent special discount on school fee. Besides, the school management will award the scholarships to poor students. The inauguration of the school will be held in the next month.
