$758 million foreign disbursements received in seven months

Pakistan received 758 million dollars foreign disbursements from 23 donors during the first seven months of the current fiscal year 2011-12, while the Asian Development Bank (ADB) remained the major financer to the country by providing 340.8 million dollars from July 2011 to January 2012.
According to the data available with Business Recorder, the World Bank is the second major donor and disbursed 228.4 million dollars to Pakistan during the first seven months of 2011-12. The data says that USA was the third major donor to Pakistan from July 2011-January 2012 by disbursing 43.4 million dollars.
Islamic Development Bank (IDB) disbursed 32.3 million dollars, the United Nations 20.4 million dollars, Germany 15.8 million dollars, United Kingdom 11.9 million dollars, Canada has released 12.3 million dollars to Pakistan during the first seven months of 2011-12, and Switzerland disbursed 0.11 million dollars. The European Union (EU) disbursed 10.4 million dollars, Norway 1.45 million dollars, Japan five million dollars, Luxembourg 0.8 million dollars, Sweden 7.7 million dollars, Netherlands 0.97 million dollars, and Italy has released 1.5 million dollars to Pakistan.
Spain released three million dollars, Belgium 0.6 million dollars, Saudi Arabia one million dollar, France 0.5 million dollars and Australia has disbursed 11.6 million dollars. The data reveals that China disbursed dollars 0.4 million, Ireland three million dollars and the international private donors have released 0.08 million dollars from July 2011 to January 2012.
