Hamza for jail reform in accordance with international standards

Jail reforms is the need of the hour, making the prisoners a useful citizen of the society instead of punishing them in jails, require to transform the prisons department according to international standard, said Hamza Shahbaz. Hamza Shahbaz, MNA, said while he was presiding over a meeting with Jail Reforms Committee. Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Nadeem Hasan Asif, Home Secretary Punjab and IG Prisons Punjab also attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the recommendations of the Jail Reforms Task Force and decided that all vacant posts of prisons department will be filled within 60 days and funds will be released for all ongoing development schemes of the department within 30 days. The meeting also decided that steps should be taken for promotion of jail officers and sending them abroad for training for transforming the prison departments.
