Sui Northern Executive Officers Association (SNEOA) observed strike along-with the Employees Union of SNGPL at the company's head-office and regional offices all over Punjab against the arrest of Executive Engineer, Shahid Shaukat by Federal Investigation Agency on the charges of corruption and abuse of power.
According to SNGPL officials, the UFG campaign will suffer if such kind of actions were taken against honest officials like Shaukat who disconnected hundreds of illegal connections of influential people involved in gas theft. The officers and employees requested the federal minister petroleum and natural resources, Dr Asim Hussain to take up the matter with concerned quarters for prompt release of the duty-bound and dedicated company executive.
On Wednesday, FIA arrested Shahid Shaukat for alleged corruption and abuse of power. The officials alleged that Shaukat had received bribe to allow a garment factory a commercial gas connection even though government has stopped issuing such connections.
