President gives assent to Carriage by Air Bill

The president on Friday gave assent to Carriage by Air Bill 2012. The president signed the bill on the advice of the Prime Minister. The bill was first passed by National Assembly on May 11, 2011. The senate passed it on October 28, 2011 with amendment and returned to NA under clause-2 of article 70 of the constitution.
NA, in pursuance of the article, again passed the bill as amended by Senate on December 30, 2011. The bill seeks to give effect to the conventions concerning international carriage by air known as Montreal Convention.-PR
