Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Thursday said Punjab government is creating conducive atmosphere for promotion of industrial and trade activities throughout the province, especially in South Punjab. An industrial estate is being set up over 455 acres in Rahim Yar Khan, which is at the confluence of three provinces, he added.
The CM said that facilities will be provided to investors in the industrial estate. He said that this project will open up new avenues of progress and prosperity in the area and thousands of job opportunities will be created as a result.
He was talking to the business community and media representatives after laying the foundation stone of Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estate adjacent to National Highway near Chak-5 NB, RYK. The CM said setting up of Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estate is a vital project, as it will help earn huge foreign exchange through the export of agriculture and dairy products to Middle East and other countries. He furthered that attractive incentives will be given to investors in the industrial estate. On the occasion, he announced provision of funds of six crore rupees (Rs 60 million) under CCB for Rahim Yar Khan Chamber Secretariat Project.
Earlier, the CM was given briefing regarding the estate. Project Director, Khizar Hayat informed that the master plan of the project will be completed by February 28 and besides setting up a private grid station, all modern facilities will be provided in the industrial estate.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the affectees of Khanpur tragedy met the CM who assured them that due punishment will be awarded to the elements involved and those playing with the lives of innocent persons will be taken to task. He informed that instructions have been issued to the affectees and officers concerned to arrive here on February 10. He also offered Fatiha for the victims of the tragedy.
