Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 155,751 tonnes of cargo comprising 120,984 tonnes of import cargo and 34,767 tonnes of export cargo including 6,480 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 120,984 tonnes comprised of 53,992 tonnes of containerised cargo; 255 tonnes of general cargo; 18,737 tonnes of bulk cargo and 48,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,767 tonnes comprised of 20,986 tonnes of containerised cargo; 40 tonnes of general cargo and 13,741 tonnes of bulk cargo. Two ships sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels are currently at the berths.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 63,493 tonnes, comprising 60,953 tonnes of import cargo and 2,540 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 994 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Saturday. Four ships namely Saigon Express, MTM Shanghai, Safmarine Nagami and La Paloma sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.
A total number of seven vessels La Paloma, Liberty Sun, Safmarine Nagami, Saigon Express, MT Anjasmoro, MT Fair Spirit and MTM Shanghai are currently occupying berths to load/offload rice, containers, palm oil, furnace oil and phosphoric acid respectively during last 24 hours. A container vessel viz MSC Clara is expected to take berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Saturday.
