Training and education of manpower: role of private sector essential: DG EPA

The role of private sector is essential and commendable for training and education of the manpower because skilled and qualified human resource could drive the country's economy on the growth track as strong engines of industries and businesses, said Asif Shuja Khan, Director General Environment Protection Agency (EPA), Government of Pakistan.
He was speaking at the launch of second Career Day organised by Toyota-Indus Motor Company under its Toyota Technical Education Programme at Construction Technology & Training Institute, here on Saturday. The institute offers 3-year Diploma to students and provided an opportunity in the Career Day for the jobs at IMC's Dealership Network. Students will be selected after going through formal tests and interview at the relevant dealership management.
Shuja said that the contribution of automobile companies in the development of industry and society should be followed in different sectors by local and multinational companies as their main objectives under Corporate Society Responsibility (CSR). Indus Motor Company (IMC) is playing a vital role in the development of the society with its advanced technical education and training programmes for young students, generating skilled based manpower for the automobile industry along with career opportunities for diligent citizens, he said.
Shuja also stressed the need for further progress on increasing fuel efficiency and introduction of environment friendly hybrids and research on bio-fuels. Abdul Sattar Khokar Joint Secretary, Ministry of Industries said, "The programme is excellent way to bridge the present gap between the skills demand by industry and those trained in the educational system."-PR
