Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday evening said that government is committed to resolve energy crisis and gas management on priority basis. Several drastic steps had already been taken in this regard, she said. She expresses these views in a live programme of FM-101 programme.
Dr Firdous disclosed that in order resolve the energy crisis construction of new dams and laying of new pipes for ensuring uninterrupted gas supply was top on agenda of the government. The minister said that unscheduled load shedding of electricity and gas load management had created problems for the business community of Sialkot adding that steps had been taken for addressing the issue to keep the industrial wheel in full motion. Undoubtedly, the unscheduled load shedding was creating serious economic problems for the industrial workers, especially the daily wagers, besides affected the daily chore of the common man, she said.
Firdous said that current issues of electricity and gas are temporary and government utilising all resources to cope with the problems. The minister urged upon the people that they should demonstrate patience adding that PPP leadership fully aware and had concentrated on resolving the issue on permanent basis. Dr Firdous reiterated that PPP leadership was mobilising available resources for bringing the country out of crisis.
