Solo paintings exhibition of Karachi-based well-known artist Mashkoor Raza has ended at Revivers Galleria here on a positive note as more than 95 percent of total exhibits on display were sold like hot cakes. Mashkoor Raza's solo paintings exhibition titled "Journey of Colours" was started on January 7 evening in a colourful manner with a total 38 paintings on display.
All of these paintings have been created by the artist during 2011 except just four, which he painted in 2009 and 2010. Owner and curator of the Revivers Galleria Ms Ara Anjum told media people here on Monday that in fact, the exhibition had to be closed down couple of days ahead of scheduled date as the art collectors who had bought Mashkoor Raza's paintings wanted delivery of the same at the earliest possible. She said the exhibition, in which most paintings were abstract images of women and horses, was a big success right from its start as more than a dozen paintings were sold out even on the first day with just one enthusiastic art collector alone buying nine paintings.
Ms Sara Anjum maintained that the sale of more than 95 percent of total 38 paintings within a few days further established the credibility of the art gallery which exhibits and offers for sale only genuine quality art, preferably of well-known artists though the newcomers are also duly encouraged by her. She said that she is proud of the fact that her art gallery enjoys such respect and credibility among the art collectors and the art lovers besides the artists' community on the whole.
Sara Anjum expressed her deep gratitude to the artists, art students, art lovers and the art collectors for visiting the gallery in pretty large number almost daily and showing keen interest in the paintings on display in the just concluded exhibition. She said that more solo exhibitions and group art shows are in the pipeline in the coming weeks and months at the Revivers Galleria.
