Chairman Auto Parts Manufacturers and Exporters Association (APMEA) Tahir Javaid Malik has welcomed the government's decision to cut General Sales Tax (GST) on tractors from 16 percent to 5 percent. He further said that the decision would give relief to the tractor manufacturers, vendors and thousands of people associated with this industry.
It would also give much-needed boost the agriculture sectors, he added. Malik in a statement on Wednesday said that reduction in the GST of tractors would help resolves problems being faced by the tractor manufacturers and vendors. Employment of thousands of workers would also remain intact.
He said that the government had taken this a step in the right direction, as it would give boost to the moral of tractor manufacturers, vendors and other allied industries. The availability of tractors at cheaper prices would also help increase agriculture production in the country, he said.
