'Trade linkages between Pakistan, Poland to enhance'

Ambassador of Poland in Pakistan, Dr Andrzej Ananciz has said that trade linkages between Pakistan and Poland would further enhance with coming days, saying both the countries have already specify various sectors for agreements in this regard.
Talking to reporters during his visit to Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Tuesday, he said that the both countries had designed a joint strategy for five years for boosting up trade relations in various sectors, including trade, commerce, strategic, humanitarian, security and other areas. He said that trade volume between Poland and Pakistan had grown last year, which would be further enhance by reaching different agreements to get new peak.
Dr Andrzej said that Poland want long term engagement with Pakistan to enhance bilateral and mutual co-operation in various sectors. "We should learn from the previous mistakes and need to move forward for the betterment of both nations, he added. He said his country would also play role for provide access to Pakistan products to EU market. "There are much political consciousness and have much potential to collaborate with Poland in different sectors, he added.
The European States, he added, want to enhance bilateral trade ties with Pakistan, for the purpose, lot of work has been done to give perennial and preferential access to Pakistani products to EU market. He informed that about 27 different Pakistani exporting products will have zero-rated duties, while accessing to EU market. However, he said that Pakistan producers should keep the quality high of their manufacturing and exporting products as per international standard.
Dr Andrzej said the EU would not accept below standard products, which need to maintain products high and competing internationally at all level. He maintained the Pakistan is much prosperous and peaceful country as compared to last few years back. He said his country had much contribution for development and progress of Pakistan, especially in disastrous situation and post-militancy reconstruction phases. The both countries had improved ties in various areas over past many years, he maintained.
"Our contribution for development of health, education, and infrastructure of Pakistan remained outstanding, and we are still contributing in various sectors," Dr Andrzej said. Regarding the situation of neighbouring Afghanistan, Dr Andrzej Ananicz has much pessimistic about the security situation after withdrawal of Nato-led alliance troops from Afghanistan, saying that the security will be great challenge, which can't tackle alone by the Afghan security forces following quitting the allied states mission by end of 2014. He said that the alliance states would continue its role for reconstruction and rehabilitation of Afghanistan. "We want peaceful and stable Afghanistan as part of Nato-led coalition states", he maintained.
Accompanied by first Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Pakistan, Piotr Adamkiewicz, and Anwar Ali Bangash, he said the Poland as member state of European Union, has designed a holistic plan for rebuilding Afghanistan on new line, adding they would start join venture and projects for brining improvement in Afghans life.
On the occasion, Peshawar Press Club, president Saiful Islam Saifi, General Secretary, Nasir Hussain, President Khyber Union of Journalist (KhUj), Arshad Aziz Malik, and a large number of senior journalists from print and electronic media were present.
Regarding the alliance states move for negotiation with Afghanistan Taliban, Dr Andrzej said that it was much important to see what kind of Taliban is going to be part of peace talks, saying that they (Talibans) whether representing al Qaeda or any Afghan peace monsters. Which was essential to access validity before going to talks with any group, he maintained.
Poland envoy says it was absolute time for holding talks with Afghanistan Taliban, because for the political solution, the Talibans must be engaged in better future perspective of Afghanistan. He said that Talibans can't be ignored, but they (Talibans) intentions should be assessed whether will be positive for development of their country.
He said the negotiations process was involved in the tribal tradition society, therefore the such approaches for Pakistan would also be fruitful to engage in the process of peace talks with local Taliban in the region.
Though, he said that the situation of Afghanistan is still very precarious, but the al Qaeda has become much weaker in the region, while the process of stability and progress has been initiated in Afghanistan. "The progress has been made in education, health and infrastructure development sector, but much needed to be done for more stability and calm in Afghanistan," he added. By the security point of view, he said that Afghan forces are not capable to tackle situation after withdrawal of Nato-led coalition forces.
