Hafiz Allah Ditta Kashif and Muhammad Afzal Jatt have been elected as President and General Secretary of Multan Bar Association after a tough contest in which more than 3,000 lawyers exercised their right to vote. For the slot of president, Hafiz Allah Dittah Kashif and Sherzamam Qureshi were in the run.
Kashif secured 966 votes while his rival got 842 votes For the office of general secretary, six candidates including Zakir Hussain Naqvi, Shah Zeb Afshar, Aurang Zeb Alamgir, Sher Arif Gondal, Mohammad Wasim and Mohammad Afzal Jatt were in the field. Muhammad Afzal Jatt elected as general secretary by bagging 534 votes.
Three candidates for the slot of vice-president including Sajid Mehmood Ansari, Sajid Aizdi Sanpal and Shiekh Khalid Hakeem faced each other and Sajid Aizdi Sanpal elected by obtaining 750 votes; Masood Qureshi, Khawaja Ejaz Hussain and Malik Fiaz Hussain fought for the slot of finance secretary and Masood Qureshi elected by getting 1,084 votes. For executive council, there were 15 candidates in the field for 10 seats of executive committee. Those who were elected are: Jamil Qureshi (1,087), Ch.Muhammad Nadeem (1,077) Abdul Rauf Qadri (1,009), Muhammad Siddique (987) Munawar Iqbal (914) Riaz Hussain Rajwana (913) Tariq Mehmood Butt (889), Aamer Khan (885) Ata Hussain Bukhari (884) and Fayyaz Hussain Khokhar (879). Mansoor Hussain Shah Bukhari and Suhail Akhar have been elected as President and General Secretary of District Bar Muzaffargarh, Rana Jafar and Rao Khalid have been elected President and General Secretary of Khanewal Bar Association. Mazhar Ghumman and Rizwan Asif were elected President and General Secretary of Vehari Bar Association. Rana Hassan and Ch. Zafar have been elected as President and Secretary of Lodhran Bar Association.
