1.5 million flood affected people are still shelterless

With winter season on peak, still 1.5 million flood affected people are shelter less in the flood affected districts of Sindh facing serious threats of diseases and deaths, while the Federal Government has stopped relief activities including provision of temporary shelters. On the one hand relief activities have been stopped abruptly, while on the other hand the government has still not come with any mechanisms to initiate early recovery phase in the flood-affected areas.
This has been disclosed in 'Civil Society Flood Situation Report' issued by Peoples Accountability Commission on Floods (PACF) a network of flood-affected communities and volunteers working with them. The report was released in a press conference here on Wednesday by PACF members Saleem Abbasi, Rafique Channa, Waheed Panhwar. PACF has been issuing a series of reports on the situation of the flood-affected communities. The eighth report of PACF mainly focuses on the shelter related issues and needs of the flood affected communities.-PR
