Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Thursday restored gas supply to Balochistan after the repair work on 18 inch diameter high pressure gas pipeline which was damaged on Wednesday near village Khudadad Jhakarani in Jafarabad District by miscreants. Working under the special directives of the Minister of Petroleum & Natural Resources to expeditiously complete the repair work, the company deployed all its resources and technical staff on the job immediately.
SSGC's team, working restlessly around the clock, replaced around 50 feet long badly damaged portion of pipeline, in highly challenging weather conditions. After completing the welding job and ensuring all necessary technical check-ups, 114 million cubic feet gas was again injected in the system at around 5pm. It is expected that full gas pressure will be restored at about 11pm on Thursday (Yesterday). Meanwhile, after building up the desired pressure in its distribution system, SSGC management decided to restore the gas supply to all the CNG stations in its franchise area at 10pm, ten hours well before the schedule announced earlier.-PR
