All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran has announced a shutter down strike in Lahore on January 14 against massive gas and power load shedding. Chairman Anjuman-e-Tajiran Pakistan Ashraf Bhatti said this while talking to Business Recorder here Monday. He claimed that there would be a successful shutter down strike in Lahore and all the markets of Lahore would be closed on January 14.
Bhatti said that they are in close liaison with the traders representatives of all the markets and they pose full confidence on the leadership of Anjuman-e-Tajiran and assured their full support to them. He said that they would hold protest rallies against the power and gas outages.
He also said that after the Lahore strike they would discuss to observe a complete shutter down strike all over Punjab if the government had not taken practical steps for the improvement of the situation. He said that gas load shedding had pushed industry to the wall, which was already facing massive challenges like electricity shortage, high input cost and high mark-up. However, small traders were badly affected by power and gas outages. He said that despite stopping gas theft of billion rupees, government has started prolonged gas load shedding, which is an unjust act.
