Grain prices said good bye to year 2011 on mixed note on the commodity market on Saturday, dealers said. They also said that the out-going year was bad for the commodity traders due to huge losses after sharp decline in the rates and the world businessmen are praying for recovery and revival of normal business activity next year.
On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh low type gained Rs 40 to Rs 2950 and best quality was higher by Rs 75 to Rs 3050 due to slight improvement in demand, other items retained the overnight levels, they said. On the seed counter rapeseeds Nawabshah was quoted higher at Rs 2600, rapeseeds Mirpurelane was up by Rs 75 to Rs 2550-2575 and cakes, however, shed Rs 5 to Rs 870-875. Cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low type was down by Rs 50 to Rs 650 and superior quality was lower by Rs 100 to Rs 700, other did not show any change in process of thin business, they said.
