Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) and Gadap Town police on Thursday claimed to have arrested notorious criminal from Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). According to SSP AVCC Ghulam Subhani, the raid was conducted on a tip-off, which revealed that a wanted kidnapper namely Akbar alias Ali Jan, who got injured during robbery bid at Mangophir area, was admitted to the JPMC for treatment.
He said the detained person was wanted in a kidnapping of Colonel Anees Alam (Retd) when he went to Gadap Town for picnic in May, 2010. The SSP further said although the team of AVCC had recovered the captive and arrested three kidnappers namely Azizur Rehman, Akhtar and Waliur Rehman while their fourth accomplice Akhbar escaped at that time from the scene.
