Prolonged power cuts: protests continue against LESCO

Protests against the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) continued for the third consecutive day in the city. The resident of walled city took out processions against prolonged power cuts. They were chanting slogans against the government and LESCO.
Power shortfall has crossed 5000MW with drop in power generation amidst canal closure for desilting and short supply of furnace oil to thermal units. The situation is likely to worsen further ahead once hydel generation comes down to zero level from December 30th till January 30th.
