A division bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) after assurance of implementation of the court's order disposed of contempt application against Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) here on Wednesday. In the contempt application, moved by All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA), Sindh Chapter, it was stated that the SHC's order in identical petitions against loadshedding of gas in Sindh has been flouted by the respondent SSGC by issuing gas management plan for CNG stations in Sindh.
The bench comprising Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar after assurance by SSGC that the gas loadshedding for CNG stations will be ended hopefully in February 2012. The SSGC counsel submitted that the company respects the court's orders and is trying to implement it in letter and spirit but it is facing acute shortage of gas supply from the resources during the winter season. To manage the situation the SSGC issued a gas management plan for CNG stations in Sindh for a short period. After this assurance, the bench disposed of the contempt plea.
