A one-day training workshop was organised on Tuesday to prevent dengue epidemic in 2012 for the staff concerned at the Directorate General of Health Services Punjab. Special Secretary Health, Dawood Muhammad Khan Bareach and Director General Health Service (DGHS) Punjab Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhary addressed the inaugural session of the workshop.
The senior officers of CDC Wing of DGHS and recently trained officers from Thailand briefed the participants about the disease surveillance, integrated vector management and other dynamics of the disease. The main emphasises was on larva surveillance and control.
The director CDC told the participants about conducting indoor and outdoor vector surveillance by making micro plans as was done in polio campaigns.
