Pakistan Librarians Association Punjab Chapter demanded the Chief Minister Punjab to fill 560 vacant posts of librarians lying vacant in the province. PLA Punjab, president Chaudhry Muhammad Hanif while speaking at the annual dinner here on Friday night at Executive Club, Punjab University, expressed concern over not filling the vacant posts, which had been sanctioned by the competent authority and approved by the Chief Minister for advertisement through Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) along with other subjects.
PLA VP Dr Muhammad Ramzan said that Association recently had apprised the CM about the large number of librarians' posts lying vacant in different colleges and higher secondary schools across the province, which had yet to be filled. President Pakistan Librarians Welfare Organisation (PLWO) Muhammad Shahid Soroya said that librarians were playing a key role in the promotion of quality education and they are respected all over the world for their contribution. Secretary PLWO demanded the CM to direct the high-ups for early publication of advertisement to fill the posts on merit.
