Sindh government, in compliance to the decision of Supreme Court of Pakistan, will issue letters to all political parties to expel criminal elements that may be within their party cadres or in associated bodies. Provincial Minister for Law, Mohammad Ayaz Soomro in a media briefing on Monday said the court's decision was consequent to its suo motu notice about situation in Karachi.
"It is after thorough perusal of the 20 points' decision of the Supreme Court that we have decided to implement it in toto," said the law minister. Mohammad Ayaz Soomro said it was again in compliance to the SC's decision that operations were conducted at regular intervals in the city and terrorists as well as elements involved in crimes were being apprehended.
"The exercise of ongoing and immediate action is being carried out on the basis of intelligence reports," he said in reply to a question. The minister said details of these arrests and related reports were also despatched to the SC through the Chief Justice of Sindh. "All relevant details about implementation of SC's decision is also being regularly despatched to them," he said.
He said the Chief Justice of Sindh High Court is holding monthly meetings to review the implementation pace of SC decision vis-à-vis Karachi. Ayaz Soomro said the government was absolutely committed to ensure implementation of the court decision and its sincerity could be well deciphered through marked improvement in the law and order situation in Karachi.
In reply to a question he said government fully believed in a strong and independent judiciary. Answering another questioner, he said SC was provided with evidence, in form of CDs and photographs, about Ajmal Pahari and other criminal arrested by the Sindh Rangers and police.
