Four killings in court premises: IGP asked to appear before court on November 18

Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Monday taking suo motu notice of killing of four persons in Rawalpindi district courts premises, directed Inspector General of Punjab Police (IGP) to appear before the court November 18.
The chief justice asked the IGP to appear before court along with all relevant record and material collected by investigating officer. He also directed LHC Human Rights and Vigilance Cell Director General Kazim Ali Malik to hold an inquiry into the incident and submit his report to the court.
The chief justice said the inquiry must be focused on finding reasons for the unfortunate incident and personnel who failed to discharge their duties. He also invited proposals and suggestions in order to avoid such incidents in future. The chief justice also said action to be taken against those who contributed directly or indirectly to the incident.
