ANP provincial president, Afrasiab Khan Khattak has claimed that his party will get overwhelming victory in next general elections, saying that the ANP popularity is growing among masses as it always stood for amicable resolution of their problems.
Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, he said that the ANP membership campaign is being carried out with full swing the province, adding that the members strengthen grows at 2.3 million as compared to last year figure of 0.1 million. He maintained that the people huge response reflects immense trustworthy and confidence upon the Awami National Party (ANP).
Flaked by Party central leader Tajuddin Khan, and activist, he explained the party elections had been divided in four liar, including town, village in rural areas, ward and Union Council in urban, while final at district level. Afrasaib Khattak said that the ANP has emerged a major political party in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying that it's a patriotic and nationalist party and always played its major role in resolution of masses problems.
"Our interest is in the soil and its people, and will continue to serve masses for their better live and addressal of their issues", he maintained. The ANP government had achieved its manifesto and all objectives set for welfare of the masses, he added.
Referring the key achievements of the ANP-government, he said that the long standing issue of National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, Net Hydel Profit arrears, and 18th Constitutional Amendments had settled in the present coalition government, which credit goes to ANP government.
After the provincial autonomy under the 18th Constitutional Amendments, he informed that the provinces share had swelled in federal divisible pool from 42 to 57 percent. He explained that the provinces have become more empowered to get direct foreign loans, equally share on oil and gas resources.
He furthered said that the role of Council of Common Interests (CCI) had remained dormant before the 18th Constitutional Amendments as mere 11 meetings held in the past 36 years. He informed that the CCI would hold four meetings in a year under the amendments. ANP provincial president said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa development had become double after increasing resources and getting of Net hydel profit amount. He ANP-government had delivered the masses during of passage of three year constitutional period. He added that the government had taken pro-poor initiatives and launched specific schemes for youth in the province.
Regarding the impacts of war against the terrorism, he said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had much affected in the war, saying the floods was also slow down economic and infrastructural development in the province. He said that the ANP had rendered immense sacrifices in the war against terrorism, adding that more than party 500 workers, including legislators gave their life for their soil. He claimed that the militants' network had been dismantled and training or base camps were razed.
About the political criticism against ANP, he said that they didn't come to power through backdoors and elected by the power of vote and people mandate. He asked that if those who want to come to political horizon, should wait two years. He said that ANP was rooted in the province, and has no threat from any political entity, adding that the party will get landslide triumph in next general elections.
To a question about getting soft loan from World Bank for Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC) Project, he replied that the provincial government had adopted policy to get maximum foreign loans for hydel generation projects. Regarding the speculation of political change in the country, he said that that the political rallies can't topple the government. When asked about ANP and PPP coalition, he said that it was premature to say anything about it. To another query, he stressed for revival of Pak-Afghan Peace Jirga and called for removal all kind of obstacles and hindrance before it.
