Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Muslim countries should strengthen each other through economic relations. He said that the agreement of solid waste management between Punjab and Turkey is a milestone, which will open new vistas of co-operation between Pakistan and Turkey.
He said this during a meeting with a 29-member delegation of businessmen of Turkey headed by Halit Esendir. Provincial Minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan, Secretary Transport and MD Solid Waste Management were also present on the occasion. Shahbaz Sharif said that old historic and cultural relations existed between Pakistan and Turkey and the people of both the countries have deep love for each other.
He said that Turkey has always helped Pakistan in every hour of trial and the way Turkish brethren took part in the relief activities during previous flood is highly commendable. He said that celebrating Eid by Turkish delegation in Pakistan and slaughtering sacrificial animals here was reflection of their love with Pakistani people.
Talking on the occasion, head of the delegation and its members said that Turkish people considered Pakistan as their second home. They said that Turkey has established more than one thousand schools in 130 countries of the world including Pakistan. They disclosed that Turkish businessmen have slaughtered more than 12,500 animals in Pakistan and their meat was distributed among 50,000 families.
