A Palestinian man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing attack that seriously wounded an Israeli teenager, Israel's military said on Sunday. In a statement, the military named the arrested man as Abad Elrahman Mahmud Alian Zayid and said he had been detained on Thursday in a joint operation involving the military, internal security agency Shin Bet and police.
The statement said Zayid "confessed that his crime was of a nationalist background," and conducted a reconstruction of the attack for investigators.
The October 22 attack occurred in the Jerusalem settlement neighbourhood of Ramot. Officials said the victim was a 17-year-old who was left in serious condition.
Zayid was arrested in neighbouring Beit Iksa, which had been the focus of the police investigation.
