The illegally detained Chief of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) in occupied Kashmir Aasiya Andrabi was shifted to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences after her condition deteriorated in occupied Srinagar central jail.
A spokesperson of the DeM in a statement in occupied Srinagar said that due to her serious illness Aasiya had been admitted in Soura hospital. "Her condition, according to doctors, is very critical. The doctors advised her colonoscopy and several other tests," the statement added, KMS reported.
The court, according to the statement, has extended the judicial remand of the detained leader till 20th November. On the other hand, as children of his age will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with their parents across the Valley, the 12-year old Ahmad Bin Qasim will miss the cherished moment.
He is not an orphan but is still living a miserable life as his parents, Aasiya Andrabi and Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, are facing imprisonment just for demanding right to self-determination for the Kashmiris. Aasiya Andrabi is under detention for the past over a year and her husband Dr Fakhtoo is behind the bars for the past over fifteen years.
"I miss my parents a lot," Ahmad Bin Qasim in a media interview said and broke down. "On Eid, my mother used to purchase new clothes for me. She also used to prepare Yakhni exclusively for me. We used to sacrifice sheep on Eid and distribute it among our neighbours. But now everything is gone," he said with moist eyes. Aasiya Andrabi's sons, Ahmed Bin Qasim and Muhammad Bin Qasim, who met her in the premises of Lower Court Srinagar last month said, "Our mother is suffering from various ailments. We can't even concentrate on studies, as every moment we think about her."
They appealed to the Amnesty International, Asia Watch and other human rights organisations to help in release of their parents.
