Chairman, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has ruled out alliance with any 'corrupt' political party iin the next general elections In an interview with a private TV channel, the cricketer-turned-politician said, "PTI can form alliance with like-minded parties with clean past but there is no possibility of any co-operation with the corrupt leadership of PML-N and PPP."
About the MQM, Khan said "the Supreme Court has already given its verdict that MQM has a militant wing, therefore, there can be no alliance with this urban Sindh-based party unless it disbands its militant wing," he added. PTI chief said his condition for alliance with other political parties is that the politicians and the parties must declare their actual assets as PTI would not give tickets to any corrupt politician.
He claimed more than sixty leaders of both PPP and PML-N had contacted him and expressed their desire to join PTI. Many honest and clean politicians will joint PTI after Eidul Azha, he added.
He said there is no doubt in his mind that his party will clean sweep the coming general elections in the four provinces as the people, specially youth of the country are fed up with PPP and PML-N.
Replying to Imran Khan's allegations, Punjab government spokesman Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that PTI chairman sees corruption in the steps taken by the PML-N for the welfare of the poor masses whereas he does not see corruption in NICL, Bank of Punjab and other federal departments.
PML-Q sources told Business Recorder that Ch. Shujaat Hussain and Ch. Pervez Elahi have decided not to comment for or against Imran Khan after last Sunday's mammoth public meeting in Lahore. Though the party leadership has announced to go all the way with the PPP, yet it was re-assessing the emerging political scenario to decide about their future course of action.
