Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has abolished its Revenue Management System (RMS), which was meant to determine the fares of the airline on different routes, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to the channel, after abolishment of the system, now there would be only three categories of fares; Economy Class, Economy Plus and Business Class. As per the new system, now the minimum one-way fare of Karachi to Islamabad and Peshawar routes will be 14,400 from the earlier 7,260, Karachi to Lahore will be Rs 13,640 from the earlier Rs 7,260 while Karachi to Quetta will be Rs 12,490 from the earlier minimum fare of Rs 7,370. However, the spokesman of the national flag carrier contended that the RMS was not abolished rather it had been suspended to capitalise on the peak season.
