Wasa should be made proactive, vibrant institution: chief minister Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that Wasa should be made such a proactive and vibrant institution which should come up to the expectations of the people and short and long term plan should be evolved for this purpose. He said that emphasis should be laid on reorganisation of Wasa, its reformation and induction of the best professional workforce in the institution.
Rejecting the proposal of putting financial burden on the masses for increasing the income of Wasa, he directed that provision of the best facilities should be ensured first and this proposal should be considered afterwards. He was addressing a meeting to review the performance of Wasa, here on Tuesday. Members National Assembly Mian Marghoob Ahmad, Pervaiz Malik Members Provincial Assembly Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Mian Shahbaz Ahmad, Mehr Ishtiaq, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretaries of Finance and Housing departments, Commissioner and District Co-ordination Officer Lahore and senior officers concerned were present.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minster said that despite heavy expenditure, the performance of Wasa couldn't be described as satisfactory. He said that reorganisation of the institution is the need of the hour and he is not interested in proposals but solution to the problem.
