Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 111,589 tonnes of cargo comprising 100,701 tonnes of import cargo and 10,888 tonnes of export cargo including 3,023 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 100,701 tonnes comprised of 16,756 tonnes of containerised cargo; 50 tonne of general cargo; 11,142 tonnes of DAP and 72,753 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 10,888 tonnes comprised of 7,723 tonnes of containerised cargo; 315 tonnes of general cargo; 750 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 2,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Samin-1, Bux Melody, UBC Cyprus, Cathrina and MT Karachi carrying two container ships, two cement carriers and one crude oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz Jakarta Express, Al-Mirqab, FR8 Venture and Pu Lan Hai carrying two container ships, one oil tanker and one general cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. A container ship namely Al-Mirqab expected to sail on Friday. Nine vessels viz OOCL Dalian, Emirates Kabir, Kota Arif, Positano, APL Sharjah, Chemway Arrow, Rivertec, Liberty Pride and Caribe Maiden carrying five container ships, one ethanol carrier, one DAP ship, one vehicles carrier and one steel & general cargo ship respectively due to arrive on Friday, while seven vessels viz OEL Trust, Ital Onore, APL Brisbane, Resolve, Ardmore Seafarer, Sea Wave and Le Rong carrying three container ships, one vehicles carrier, one cement carrier, one naphtha ship and one general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 108,966 tonnes, comprising 73,639 tonnes of import cargo and 35,327 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 4,283 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 73,639 tonnes includes 37,581 tonnes of diesel oil; 11,008 tonnes of phosphoric acid and 25,050 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 35,327 tonnes includes 1,070 tonnes of cement and 34,257 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two container ships namely CV Nexoe Maersk and CV NYK Kai sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while three more ships namely CV Pisti, MTM Tokyo and MT Al-Soor-II are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of six vessels CV Nexoe Maersk, CV Pisti, CV NYK Kai, MV Amira Dina, MTM Tokyo and MT Al-Soor-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, phosphoric acid and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours. One ship namely Gas Elixir with LPG tanker is currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of two vessels viz MT SC Dalia and MT Gas Elixir carrying palm oil and LPG respectively are expected to take berths at Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday, while a container vessel viz CV MSC Anafi is due to arrive on the same day. Five ships namely CV ACX Lily, CV Maersk Missouri, CV Atlantic Trader, MT Sea Sky and MT Golden Ambrosia with three container ships, one furnace oil tanker and a chemicals carrier are also due to arrive at Port Qasim.
